This month has been pretty busy. If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been a bit absent from the blogging world. So here is a little bit of a catch-up.
We had a weekend of shopping, picking up our washing machine and showing Caleb & Chelsea around Indy when they came for a visit.
Threw a surprise birthday party for our niece before they headed back to Mexico:
Tried a new Thai place for date night:
Crashed the Indiana State Fair with friends, rode the Ferris wheel and stuffed ourselves with delicious food and drinks:
And then, this past weekend we MOVED. And painted the new place. We had SO many amazing friends help us move and paint and it was such a blessing:
And in between the painting and unpacking, we celebrated our 4 year dating anniversary:
I hope you have had a great August and are ready for fall. I’m trying to hold on to summer as long as possible. 😉
More pictures to come of our new home once we are fully set up and everything is on the walls. Thanks for stopping by!
This week are some current favorite DIY Pinterest pins.
ONE // Rustic Pallet Headboard. We’ve been wanting to make a pallet headboard pretty much since we got married. Now we finally have access to some pallets, and it’s just a matter of deciding on which one to make, getting the right tools and supplies and putting it together.
TWO // Coffee station. There are so many cute ideas! I want to have a little coffee corner in our new place.
THREE // Dressing the Bump. I’m not pregnant, but I love maternity style. Saving all the pins for later! 😉
FOUR // Bathroom shelving. I love this super simple and easy look. Another DIY project for after we move!
FIVE // Recycling Candles. I never know what to do with candle bits and empty candle jars. Normally I just throw them away, but now I want to recycle and try making my own.
It seems like every month slips by faster than the previous month. And yes, I’ll probably say this every month.
JulyGoals went pretty well:
~ sort & donate items we don’t need to get ready for our move
~ start making meal plans before shopping (I used to be on top of this, but not lately)
~ write thank you notes
~ take pictures for some recipes I’ve been wanting to post – I took pictures of 1 recipe. Does that count?
~ spend some time at the pool
~ take a hike in Brown County State – July 4th hike ~ check out a new (to us) local coffee shop – see which one here
~ pack up and move to new apartment
~ set up appointments I’ve been putting off (like an eye exam)
~ paint our new apartment
~ spend some time at the pool
~ go to the Indiana State Fair
~ build a pallet headboard
~ celebrate 4 years of dating
This weekend was chock-full of birthday parties. Be prepared for loads of pictures!
Friday, Loren and I left work a little early and headed to Cincinnati for Carrie’s (L’s sister) surprise birthday party. Heather had reserved a room at a little cafe where we hid with lots of balloons until she, Carrie and their other housemate (out for a “girls night”) walked in. She was surprised, and we had a fun time at the cafe before going over to the girls’ house for homemade ice cream sandwiches and games. So glad we could celebrate our fun, creative and amazing Carrie!
Saturday morning, we had a late breakfast with Carrie and Heather before coming home and getting ready for the next birthday party. Two of my sisters had boys on the same day three years ago, and both families happened to be in the same state for the boys’ 3rd birthday, so we had a party with family at Dawn’s. It was so much fun celebrating these two precious and hilarious boys. I’ll let these pictures do most of the talking. 🙂
Sunday after church, lunch and a Walmart run for moving necessities, we started packing for our move!
